Coterm Adviser Election Form
New to the Public Policy coterm? Select and meet with your faculty adviser upon acceptance to the program and submit the adviser election form by the end of the quarter following acceptance into the coterm. Students may choose to have more than one adviser, but it is required that at least one faculty adviser be a member of the Academic Council. Advisers must confirm that the courses proposed are likely to be taught during the applicable period, or that appropriate substitute courses are available. Public Policy student services will verify scheduling of courses. Contact Public Policy staff if you would like help in selecting an adviser.
Course Waiver Petition
Complete the course petition form if you've taken a course closely related to one of the degree requirements, and you'd like to petition for the course to take the place of the requirement. Approval at the discretion of the Program Director.
Coterm Concentration Coursework Form
Complete the concentration coursework form if you would like to propose one or several courses to count as concentration coursework and to fulfill the coterminal MA unit requirements. Students may request the addition of a "Degree Subplan" by filling out the Declaration or Change to a Field for Graduate Students. Subplans are printed on transcripts and diplomas.
Independent Study Petition
Interested in pursuing Independent Research with a Stanford faculty member? Complete and submit the Independent Course Petition during the first week of the quarter to register in PUBLPOL 198/298, 115/315, or 309X.
Coterm Course Approval Form
Complete the coterm course approval form if you would like to transfer courses from your undergraduate career to your graduate career and vice versa. All courses must be transfered to your graduate career before your undergraduate degree is conferred. Follow the instructions on the Registrar website to fill out the form.
Master's Thesis Proposal
All M.A. students planning to write a Master's thesis must complete this form to receive approval for their thesis topic and choice of advisor by November 20, 2020.
