Daniel Raymond Wong Memorial Fellowship
In choosing recipients of the Daniel Raymond Wong Memorial Fellowship, the Program in Public Policy places emphasis on selecting students who demonstrate some or all of the following interests and characteristics associated with Daniel Wong himself: a declared major in economics or public policy, who has shown an interest in the study of education or health care issues, who has secured a position at a nonprofit or public service organization, and located in the Washington, D.C. area.
The priority application deadline for 2024 is Friday, May 3rd.

History of the Daniel Raymond Wong Memorial Fellowship
A small group of faculty and alumni worked tirelessly to establish a fund in memory of Daniel Raymond Wong (Class of 2013), who died shortly after graduating with a degree in Public Policy. Daniel passed away just before the holidays in 2013 of what was initially suspected to be viral encephalitis; he was just 22. Under the direction of the Program in Public Policy, the funds raised in Daniel's memory will support summer fellowships for students who demonstrate his spirit and who share in his passion for public service.
In early 2016, with generous help from you and our entire community, we reached our goal of $100,000! The fund is now endowed, and a portion of the fund can be used to support a student's summer internship; however, this does not mean we no longer need your support! We still need donations to fund more students engaged in meaningful summer work that would otherwise go unpaid. If you want to donate to Public Policy and see tangible results, this is the perfect way to give!

It is most rewarding to know that the research being done is helping marginalized people build a voice in policy. I have also had the privilege of personally speaking to and learning from the experiences of those we are conducting research for.
Even though we've endowed the fund, we still need your support! Donations can be made in two ways:

- Click on the upper right button at ‘Make a Gift.’
- Use the following drop down choices: 'Centers, Institutes, and More’ in the first box and ‘Other Designation (specify below)’ in the second.
- Type ‘Daniel Raymond Wong Memorial Fellowship Fund’ in the 'Special Instructions/Other Designation' box.
- Under Gift Type, choose ‘One-Time Gift’ and enter the amount you wish to donate.
- Do not check any boxes under ‘Options.’
