Maya Rossin-Slater

Maya Rossin-Slater is the Josephine Knotts Knowles Professor of Human Biology and Associate Professor of Health Policy at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic and Policy Research (SIEPR), a Faculty Affiliate at the Stanford Center on Early Childhood, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a Research Affiliate at the IZA@LISER Network. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University, and her BA in Economics and Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a health economist who studies issues in maternal, child, and family well-being, social safety net programs, and public policies and other factors affecting disadvantaged populations. She is the recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and the American Economic Association’s Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession Elaine Bennett Research Prize (awarded to recognize outstanding research in any field of economics by a woman not more than ten years beyond her PhD). She is also the PI on several grants from the National Institutes of Health, and has published articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She currently serves as a co-editor at the Journal of Human Resources.
