Henry Cheng

Henry Cheng currently serves as the Senior Director of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) at Neurocrine Biosciences. In this role, he leads a team of health economists to design and execute a comprehensive evidence generation strategy to facilitate optimal access and reimbursement for the launch of Crinecerfont for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH). 

Across his HEOR positions, Henry has overseen cross-functional workstreams encompassing economic modeling, large-scale real-world evidence (RWE) registries, post-marketing observational studies, insurance claims analyses, payer market research, systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparisons, and more. With a background in engineering and policy advocacy, Henry embraces big data with a spirt of innovation and leads with culture of collaborative stakeholder engagement to make broad strategic impact.

Prior to joining Neurocrine, Henry worked as an Associate Director of HEOR at Ultragenyx, a Medical Affairs Manager at Inflammatix, an HEOR intern at Genentech, and as a Henry Luce Scholar at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Zoonoses in Thailand. 

Henry’s academic training includes a BS in Biological Engineering from the University of Hawaii and an MS/PhD in Bioengineering along with an MA in Public Policy from Stanford University. His Bioengineering thesis focused on developing genomics-based diagnostic approaches for infectious diseases, evaluated for accuracy and clinical utility in a clinical trial with the Stanford Hospital Emergency Department. During his Public Policy practicum, Henry contributed to a survey assessing the preparedness of US hospitals for disasters and pandemics. 

In his spare time, Henry teaches cardio training (BODYATTACK) and kickboxing (BODYCOMBAT) group fitness classes at the YMCA.
