Garrett Jensen
Garrett Jensen is the Managing Director of Friends of the University of California, a political action committee and 501(c)(4) dedicated to supporting all 10 University of California campuses through a statewide advocacy network, educational events, and strong relationships with state and federal legislators. Garrett's interest in policy and politics began when working for EY on the Americas Corporate Social Responsibility team. In 2020, he completed the Stanford MPP and POLS dual masters program. It was in those two years that Garrett met Senator Josh Becker and in November 2020, became his first policy consultant in Sacramento. He then served as the Legislative Director for Assemblymember Kevin McCarty, now Mayor McCarty. Garrett owes his career to the strong relationships formed while at Stanford through top notch faculty, staff, and impactful state research. He knows firsthand that we can improve and build communities through active policy making. Garrett lives in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento with his partner and German Shepherd.
