Brandon Alvarez

Brandon is a senior majoring in Public Policy with a minor in Psychology.
With heavy investments in the application of policy and law for social change, they hope to use their experience at Stanford to advocate for Queer and Trans* rights in the US policy sphere. Following the completion of a 5th year, they intend to work in Queer advocacy law before attending law school in the area.
Serving as a community leader at Terra, Queer Student Resources, and several Queer voluntary student organizations, Brandon has dedicated a large portion of their Stanford career creating healthy, formative community spaces for Queer and Questioning individuals on campus; intending to take these lessons with them in various community spheres after graduation. After interning at Stanford Law School during the summer of 2018, they discovered their passion for advocacy law, and hope they can meld their academic and personal interests to positively benefit their communities through policy work.
An avid writer and dancer, Brandon spends their free time musing from one artistic project to the next, always looking for new ways to expend their creative energy. A long way from their birthplace of rural Ohio, they are always on the lookout for new experiences and ways to better themselves and are excited to embrace that philosophy of change in the years to come.
