Below are forms that Public Policy graduate students may find useful. All are PDF files.
For current Stanford graduate students wishing to apply for the MPP or the MA degree program.
All graduate students are required to complete and submit a program proposal one quarter after beginning the degree program.
Course Waiver Petition
Complete the course waiver petition form if you've taken a course closely related to one of the degree requirements, and you'd like to petition for the course to take the place of the requirement. Approval at the discretion of the Program Director.
Faculty Adviser Form
Select and meet with your MPP or MA faculty adviser upon acceptance to the program and submit the adviser election form one quarter after beginning the degree program. Advisers must confirm that the courses proposed are likely to be taught during the applicable period, or that appropriate substitute courses are available. Public Policy student services will verify scheduling of courses. Contact Public Policy staff if you would like help in selecting an adviser.
Independent Study Petition
Interested in pursuing Independent Research with a Stanford faculty member? Complete and submit the Independent Course Petition prior to the first week of the quarter to register in PUBLPOL 198/298 or 309X.
Master's Thesis Proposal
All M.A. students planning to write a Master's thesis must complete this form to receive approval for their thesis topic and choice of advisor by November 20, 2020.
Concentration Coursework Form
Complete the concentration coursework form if you would like to propose one or several courses to count as a concentration. Students may request the addition of a "Degree Subplan" by filling out the Declaration or Change to a Field for Graduate Students. Subplans are printed on transcripts and diplomas.
